Kekkei Genkai

The Yuki clan (雪一族, Yuki Ichizoku) lived in the Land of Water. Some time ago, the country was in the midst of a civil war. In this war, different sides battled each other using ninja, some of whom possessed Kekkei Genkai. After the war ended, memories of the horrific battles still lingered in the minds of the people, causing wide-spread persecutions against those with kekkei genkai. Because of this, the Yuki clan, whose members carried the Ice Release kekkei genkai, went into hiding.

No one knows happened to the rest of the clan, but it is assumed that they were either killed or went to live peaceful lives living as normal people, without revealing their true bloodline. Memories of the clan still linger, its members and kekkei genkai being called "cursed" even up to this day.

There had been rumors in the past that the Yuki clan built a temple somewhere in the vicinity of Kirigakure where they gather and practice their kekkei genkai technique as well as develop new ones. Those who successfully mastered the clan's techniques have been called Yuki no Danchō (団長の雪, Grandmaster of the Snow). This rumor was mere gossip until someone stumbled upon a submerged temple deep beneath the waters near the Misty Village. It is completely made of ice and one of its rooms housed various scrolls and documents pertaining to the Yuki clan's history and their techniques. Declaring herself as Grandmaster of a clan that may no longer exist, that person placed a powerful seal and a multi-layered Genjutsu over the temple for now, hiding it from plain sight to anyone but her so she can come back one day and learn more about it.

List of Yuki Clan Grandmasters[]

Given that the clan has no official declarations of such title, the people listed here are considered "Grandmasters" for their own achievements, either because of their discoveries about the Yuki or their prowess in using the clan's Kekkei Genkai even if they have no close relations to it.

Trivia[]

  • Yuki translates as "Snow", a reference to their kekkei genkai.
  • The clan's ultimate technique is the Demonic Mirroring Ice Crystals, which is said to have been passed down through the generations. It is also noted that very few methods can defeat this technique.
