Summoner

A summoning of Angra Mainyu, Aeshma is a strange-looking creature, donning the appearance of a golem with markings engraved all about his face and body, similarly with his summoner, and has two wings sprouting out of his back. Jagged spikes also form out of the back of his wrists and out of his back like a mane, complimenting the brutishness of his physique.

He is capable of flight, and possesses an immense amount of physical strength and durability, often leading his opponents to believe he is an Earth Release user whenever manipulating the earth through punching the ground, as a result creating powerful shockwaves and fissures.

However, Aeshma is most fearsome whenever utilizing its signature technique, Fire Release: Combustive Laser, which practically nullifies all elemental ninjutsu directed at him, whilst leaving those casting them at his mercy when rapidly firing concentrated beams of energy from his eyes.

Influence

Aeshma (Aēšma) is the Younger Avestan name of Zoroastrianism's demon of "wrath." As a hypostatic entity, Aeshma is variously interpreted as "wrath," "rage," and "fury." His standard epithet is "of the bloody mace." Tri-syllabic aeshma is already attested in Gathic Avestan as aeshema (aēšəma), though not yet - at that early stage - as an entity. The word has an Indo-Iranian root. In the Zoroastrian texts of the 9th-12th centuries, aeshma appears as Middle Persian eshm or kheshm, continuing in Pazend and New Persian as kashm. Judaism's Asmodai (Talmudic ʼšmdʼy, Book of Tobit asmodios) derives from Avestan aeshma.daeva.
